Imagine messing up your build at level 3 and realizing that at level 13. Like this time when I forgot to take 5 points of lore (arcane) and I couldn't take dragon disciple levels as early as I wanted. Wizard wins for flexibility and problem solving. Witch wins for raw power. Especially if you go Winter Witch for +6 caster levels on cold spells, the mythic feat that does more damage when you hit with two different elements, and the Winter Witch ability that makes your cold spells always deal two different kinds of damage. You want spontaneous casters for the merged list ideally since it adds a ton of spells which covers your main weakness. And since lich/angel have the best spells for blasting you can focus on taking utility spells from your class without falling behind. The community domain in particular is essential because it lets you apply a +7 AOE buff.
